Blue Jay Openers is a British, family owned business based in the Midlands, UK. The patented design of the Blue Jay Opener was conceived by a Chartered engineer with aesthetic input from artists so that the finished product works well whilst still being aesthetically appealing.

Along the way the University of Birmingham helped with some of the initial modelling and the patenting process has, in part, been helped by the European Regional Development Fund.
